Back on Wednesday, we saw the Portuguese media reporting that Nottingham Forest had made a second attempt for the signing of Braga goalkeeper Matheus.

Journalist Pedro Sepulveda claimed that following a €4.5m offer, the Reds were now back with €6m plus bonuses, and that was turned down once again.

Today, it’s time for Portuguese newspaper O Jogo to come up with a story about the chase, confirming that Nottingham Forest gave the signing another shot.

The outlet claims this is actually the third attempt the Tricky Trees tried to sign Matheus in a few months, and despite not confirming the amount on the table, it’s said that was turned down one more time.

According to O Jogo, Braga will only let the goalkeeper move if Nottingham Forest offer €10m, otherwise there’s ‘no deal’.

The story explains that the move is very attractive for Matheus. It’s pointed out that since he’s 31, this would be one of his last chances in the Premier League and making a big contract.

Still, it’s said he will ‘not force his exit’ from Braga, so the Reds better be back with a stronger offer.
