Tottenham Hotspur are working towards signing Sevilla’s Bryan Gil after completing a deal for goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.
Spurs will offer €25m and Érik Lamela to the La Liga side and the operation is in its final stretch, according to Marca.
Lamela arrived in Seville on Sunday afternoon and he’s expected to travel to Portugal [where Sevilla are currently training] once his signing and Gil’s sale to the north London club are made official.
Julen Lopetegui’s side are ‘about to announce’ the Argentine’s arrival as long as he clears his medical examinations.
As part of the deal, they will allow Gil to join the English club and earn money in the process.
Sevilla were trapped by the ‘strict control’ that La Liga is exercising over club’s finances, and Gil’s exit will help Monchi move in the transfer market. Lopetegui also gave his approval for the sale since he ‘saw it as necessary’ to improve the club’s economic conditions.
ABC Sevilla are also reporting that Lamela arrived in Spain on Sunday and his signing will be made official today.
It’s claimed that ‘last night’, two sides ‘closed a transfer’, that was ‘very important for the development of the future market’ of Sevilla and also to balance their accounts.
Gil ‘will definitely leave’ Sevilla for Spurs and will sign a five-year contract with them after returning from the Olympic Games.
