Manchester City are one of the clubs interested in Frenkie de Jong of Ajax, in a transfer rumour which is starting to get a little tiring.
There is also firm interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germanin to secure the services of the Netherlands international.
Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported on Sunday that fans of the Premier League winners are waiting ‘expectantly’ to find out if they have won the transfer war for the 21-year-old.
An update on the player in Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo may bring some positive news for the English champions after reports from last week suggested that Pep Guardiola’s side were relegated in the race to sign the Eredivisie star.
It is explained that De Jong has offers from City, Barca and the Ligue 1 winners.
The Dutchman will ‘dedicate today’ to analyse these proposals before taking a final decision tomorrow or Wednesday.
Manchester City are mentioned only once in the entire report, while there are no other details about their offer or talks with De Jong or his agent.
But, and this is crucial, they’re not ruled out this time.
That said, Barca and PSG still ahead of the Etihad outfit in the race for De Jong.
