In what is seen as a relatively surprising move, Tottenham are on the verge of signing Timo Werner from RB Leipzig on loan with an option to buy.
That’s according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who took to X to reveal the latest in the deal between Spurs and their Bundesliga counterparts.
The good news for Tottenham fans is the deal is very close to being done, and the player ‘will arrive in London this evening’ to start the process to complete his move.
Inn fact, the belief is that his medical will be completed on Tuesday, while the paperwork for the loan move is ‘done’.
Timo Werner will be joining Tottenham on a six month loan, while Spurs will also be able to sign him permanently for a fee of €17-18m.
Now, it’s entirely up to the Germany international to make the most of this move after a terrible start to the campaign ahead of the 2024 Euros at Leipzig, where he was starved of minutes and only scored twice in 14 games in all competitions.
