After Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, Spanish newspaper AS had a camera outside the ground to catch the emotions and rants of Madridistas.
A bit like Arsenal Fan TV, but in Spanish and with fans used to big success, AS recorded a stream of supporters sharing their anger.
Some were fuming, their faces contorted with anger as Spanish words and phlegm flew in front of the camera.
The theme was largely: Morata, Morata, Morata.
Selling the striker to Chelsea in the summer was seen as a bad move, and Karim Benzema’s poor show against Tottenham only served to underline that, and perhaps bring simmering fury to the boil.

Similar sentiment has been shared through other mediums, Madrid fans aren’t happy with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham, and it’s Benzema who is laregly getting the blame.
This is of course amusing for the Catalan media, and Mundo Deportivo have covered the situation. The Catalan newspaper say that despite being excellent against Getafe, Benzema is the subject of ire, and is receiving more whistles than cheers from the Bernabeu at the moment.
Fans with ‘indignation’ towards Benzema were in the majority, report Mundo Deportivo, who also point out it’s probably something to do with his lack of goals this season… just 1 in La Liga.
Tottenham snatching a point tipped some over the edge, and it’s a lesson for players who would perhaps consider a move to Real Madrid (let’s just throw Harry Kane and Dele Alli in there) that it’s a tough gig, even for players who spent years rattling the goals in.
