As January approaches and following their first win, Newcastle United are going to be linked with numerous players.
Among them is Sven Botman, currently at Lille, who helped the Ligue 1 side win their league against all odds last season, seeing off Paris Saint-Germain for the trophy.
He was linked with various clubs, like Liverpool and the likes, but he and his side decided it was best for him to stay an extra year and enjoy Champions League football.
However, Lille are currently 11th in Ligue 1, far from hitting their previous heights, and there’s a feeling that Botman could do better elsewhere.

Whether Newcastle is the right club for that remains to be seen, but what appears to be certain is that he is a target for them.
Claims in England have now been backed up in Belgium, where Sacha Tavolieri took to social media to explain that the Dutchman is ‘well and truly’ on the ‘shortlist’ at St James’ Park, and is a ‘profile they like a lot for this winter’.
Time to get excited, Newcastle fans.
