Barcelona have this summer been looking to recruit youngsters to help bolster their youth divisions and provide help to their B side.
It’s a plan from the Catalan club to partly secure good talents for the future whilst also providing an income stream. Barcelona know they can get reasonable fees in the future for such players and they have the added glamour to push the fee up higher.
Now they’re in a battle with Watford for a youngster, with the Premier League side also being excellent at identifying and signing young talent around the football world.
L’Equipe report Watford have made a ‘concrete’ offer for 17 year old Haissem Hassan who is currently playing for Chateauroux in Ligue 2.
The offer from the Hornets is €2.5m and there’s no indication of whether that will be accepted, of what the potential asking price would be.
There’s also no explanation of where Barcelona are with their interest or whether they’re planning an offer themselves.
Hassan is currently ‘between Watford and Barcelona’.
