Eintracht Frankfurt star Evan N’Dicka has been warned against making a move to Arsenal, as he fits in perfectly with the German club.
N’Dicka has developed into one of the hottest up and coming young defenders in Germany since joining the Bundesliga side in July 2018.
He’s now very highly rated, and with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2023, he will have to make a decision on his future this summer.
Eintracht would like to keep him beyond that point, but if the defender refuses to sign a new deal, the German side will likely be forced to sell to ensure he does not leave on a free transfer.
Arsenal are one of the sides thought to be interested in him, with a report last month explaining they had been given a chance to sign him for as little as €20m.
That followed reports throughout last year that stated they were keen as Mikel Arteta looked to bolster his defence.
If that remains a target for Arsenal this summer, then it is likely N’Dicka’s name will appear again, but for Jan-Age Fjortoft, leaving Germany would be the wrong move.
“Apart from strikers like Haaland or Mbappé, it is above all centre-backs who are in demand in the next transfer period,” he told BILD.
“Chelsea’s Rüdiger and Christensen are on the market, and in Germany internationals like Ginter and Süle. Freiburg’s Schlotterbeck probably too. So there is movement coming in.
“Of course, with every defender who can head and is tall, people say: he’s one for England… But there are big differences in the Premier League.
“If you play at Burnley, for example, you are almost always deep at the back for 90 minutes and are constantly fighting two-on-one. It’s different to the top clubs, where you have to defend much higher up and, above all, be quick.
“I would like him to stay. Evan is a perfect fit for Eintracht.”
