Real Sociedad are negotiating with Leicester City to sign Ayoze Pérez, according to AS.

The La Liga side want a new forward after selling Alexander Isak to Newcastle United for a club-record fee.

Pérez, who is keen to leave Leicester, has been identified as a target. La Real are in talks with the Foxes and also with the 29-year-old’s representatives to try to close the details of the contract.

A lack of regular game time has convinced the attacker to make a move away the King Power Stadium.

His contract expires in 2023 and the Spaniard is ‘willing to give up’ the last 12 months of the deal so that he can join the La Liga club as a free agent. Pérez earns €9m per season  gross and the key is he ‘wants to leave’ Leicester.

Real Sociedad sporting director Roberto Olabe has the ex-Newcastle man’s name on his list since his signing is economically viable.

Pérez has asked his agents to listen to offers and has the option to join the San Sebastian club. They are negotiating with Leicester the right formula to take him away from the Premier League side.

Real Betis are also interested in Brendan Rodgers’ man, but have salary issues to sort out before carrying out any new signings.
