Dynamo Kyiv full-back Vitaliy Mykalenko has returned to the club from Liverpool after undergoing a medical with Everton.
That’s according to Depo.Sektor, citing Footballua.tv, who say the defender is waiting for his club to reach an agreement with Everton over a transfer.
Mykolenko has been heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park over the last 48 hours, with reports indicating that a deal is being worked on for him to move in January.
That’s likely to be as a replacement for Lucas Digne, who has seemingly fallen out with manager Rafa Benitez and now could be set to leave the club as a result.
That would leave a hole in the squad, and Mykolenko could be the replacement, with reports in England have stated he recently travelled to Merseyside for a medical.
Depor Sektor and Footballua now cover that saying that the medical side of things has now been completed, and Mykolenko has returned to Kyiv for the time being.
The 22-year-old will wait until the clubs reach a ‘final transfer agreement’, at which point he will sign his contract.
The website provides some information on that, saying it will be a five-year deal with a transfer worth €21m but which could rise to €23m. They don’t say this is their information, though, and it is likely they have picked that up from the report elsewhere.
Either way, it seems Mykolenko has been to Everton and has now returned back to his club, waiting for the deal to be completed ahead of January.
