AFC Bournemouth could spoil Angers SCO’s plans to sign Vitória de Guimarães’ Abdul Mumin in the summer window.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who state the Cherries could hijack the Ligue 1 side’s efforts to secure the 24-year-old’s signature.

It’s claimed the Ghanian was ‘very close’ to joining Angers and they even made an offer of €3m plus €1m bonuses to the Portuguese club. This was before Bournemouth entered the scene for the defender.

The centre-back courted by Angers ‘now seems to be close’ to the newly promoted Premier League side.

The report states the player is said to have chosen Bournemouth over the French club as the latter’s salary offer is expected to be higher. The details of the proposal made by the English side are not detailed.

L’Equipe state the central defender would be on the ‘verge of signing’ for Scott Parker’s side. There’s no mention of the fee Vitória de Guimarães are expected to collect from the defender’s possible sale to Bournemouth.

Mumin has made four appearances for Vitória de Guimarães in the qualifiers of the UEFA Conference League this season.
