Around a week ago we covered claims from Germany that Daniel Farke was pushing Norwich City to sign Ralf Fährmann.
At that stage it was made clear the Schalke player hadn’t made up his mind about a move to Norfolk, and the structure of a potential deal wasn’t clear either.
Bild bring it bang up to date on Wednesday.
The German newspaper report the goalkeeper is on the verge of a move to the newly promoted club. Norwich want to take the 30 year old on loan for a season, and talks are said to have been going on for ‘some time’.
There’s just ‘final details’ needing to be ‘clarified’ before the move can be completed.
Bild say it’s a ‘great opportunity’ for the player to return to being a first choice goalkeeper, having lost his place at Schalke to 22 year old Alex Nübel.
At the beginning of June, 31 year old Tim Krul signed a contract with Norwich City which runs until 2022, and it’s unlikely he’s going to be eager to watch Premier League football from the bench next season.
There would be no purchase option in the loan.
It’s also pointed out the player’s wife has started following Norwich on Instagram.
