Orel Mangala is ‘on the verge’ of leaving VfB Stuttgart and signing for Nottingham Forest, according to multiple German journalists.
The 24-year-old has been linked with several Premier League clubs in recent weeks, and his agent last week confirmed there’d been contact regarding a transfer.
Florian Plettenberg says the midfielder is closing in on a move to Nottingham Forest, with only the last details of the transfer still to be clarified. Negotiations are said to have been ongoing for days, and all parties involved hope a ‘total agreement’ can be reached in the next few hours.
Another German journalist, Dennis Bayer, reports the transfer is expected to happen for around €15m. He points out that despite a broad agreement, nothing has been confirmed on paper so far, and until that happens there’s always a small chance the move could fail.
Mangala played 29 matches for Stuttgart last season, in a variety of midfield roles, scoring a single goal and adding four assists along the way.
