Charles de Ketelaere should move to the Premier League this summer if the likes of Newcastle United make their move.

That’s according to analyst Jan Mulder, who believes the young striker would ‘make even more steps’ forward were he to head to England.

De Ketelaere is one of the hottest properties in Europe after shining for Brugge in the last 18 months, scoring 24 goals and registering 19 assists in 112 games so far.

This season he has 17 goals and nine assists in 41 games in all competitions, the kind of numbers that make clubs stand up and take notice given he is only 21-years-old.

Newcastle are known to be one of his many admirers, with Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri recently naming them as one of the interested parties while discussing AC Milan and Napoli’s attentiveness to the striker.

“Milan like him and also Napoli. For the Rossoneri, he is the perfect profile, but Brugge are asking for €40m. He is not a priority for Milan, and on him, there are Leicester and Newcastle,” Tavolieri told Calciomercato.it’s CMIT TV.

Now the player has been urged to make the move should Newcastle offer it, with Mulder believing he would develop more in the Premier League than elsewhere.

“Charles will, of course, continue his career abroad. I am curious which choice he will make,” he told Sport/Voetbal Magazine.

“Spain and Italy are not that interesting anymore; England has the most money. But above all: you can develop the best there.

“Robin van Persie went from Feyenoord to Arsenal at the time, and six months later, he had become twice as good. Because of the high tempo, because of the intensity that makes you physically stronger as well.

“Charles could also handle the level of the Bundesliga, but in the Premier League, he will make even more steps.”
