Cheikh N’Doye received plenty of transfer attention during his time with Angers, several Premier League clubs were interested and he’d have probably already left had it not been for the French club holding him to his contract.
Wishes that he would extend were fruitless and as a free agent N’Doye has had a pick of several clubs, but perhaps not as many as one may have thought, given the previous attention.
Coming to to the top stage of football at a late age, until 2015 N’Doye was playing for US Créteil, and everything really got going when he moved to Angers.
Now a Birmingham City player, N’Doye picked the Championship club over other options. French newspaper L’Equipe report that as well as Birmingham City, there were opportunities in Turkey, and three Chinese clubs were keen to sign the player.
The 31 year old will want to show he’s still got plenty to offer to Birmingham City, and Harry Redknapp will hope that motivates N’Doye in the coming season.
From US Créteil to the premier League in 3 years? It’s possible.
