Following suggestions of similar at the end of last week, Calciomercato report Manuel Locatelli has turned down an offer to join Manchester United.
That offer is said to have come during the summer transfer window, when the Old Trafford club were looking at midfield options as they struggled to convince Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong to join them.
According to the very brief report, Locatelli turned down a move to Erik ten Hag’s side due to a ‘matter of the heart’. He wants to fight his way into prominence at Juventus and be a major player for the club in the coming years.
Calciomercato have a second article on the situation, saying Locatelli ‘politely declined’ Manchester United, and they continue to talk about his commitment to Juventus and desire to do well for the Turin club.
This all feels like an effort to cement the player’s status among fans of the club, following a difficult period for both Locatelli and the Serie A side.
