Lucas Digne has made only three appearances for Everton since the last international break, as Rafael Benítez left him out of the squad for the last three league matches. The 28-year-old’s situation could see the Toffees look for a new left-back.
Dynamo Kyiv’s Vitaliy Mykolenko has been identified as a target and his manager, Mircea Lucescu, has already revealed the Ukrainian is set to arrive in the Premier League next month.
On Tuesday, reports from Ukraine stated the fullback’s move to the Merseyside club will be made official on January 1st.
Later that day, journalist Santi Aouna explained Benítez’s side want to ‘get rid’ of some of their players in the winter market and Digne was included in that list.
A new report from Foot Mercato claims Napoli have identified the France international and Paris Saint-Germain’s Layvin Kurzawa as targets. The Serie A side are looking at left-backs because Luciano Spalletti isn’t convinced with Mario Rui and Faouzi Ghoulam.
Regarding Digne, it’s stated the former Barcelona man ‘has shown good things’ since he arrived at Goodison Park in 2018.
However, the defender is ‘having more troubles this season’ because his relationship with the Spaniard lately has ‘become untenable’, so much so that, it has reached a ‘point of no return’.
With the player having issues with Benítez and with the expected arrival of Mykolenko, Digne could look for a move away from Everton in January.
