Habib Habibou is currently training with Bolton Wanderers, according to France’s FootMercato. The 30 year old has been contracted to Lens, but with the French club content to see the back of the striker, Bolton are having a look to see if they’d like to offer a contract.

Habibou has limited Championship experience, having been a Leeds United player for half a season in 2013. The striker played a handful of games for Leeds United, whilst on loan from Belgian club Zulte Waregem, but wasn’t able to impress enough.

Leeds announced they wouldn’t be working to keep the player at Elland Road, and he returned to Belgium, eventually signing for Gent and doing well for them.

Since Gent, Habibou has played for Rennes, been on loan to Turkish side Gaziantepspor, and then signed for Lens.

FootMercato say the former Leeds loan player has already rejected several proposals this summer, and is therefore eager to impress Bolton, clearly fancying a return to English football.

Habibou will be with Bolton until Wednesday.
