On Tuesday, we covered claims from Belgium that KRC Genk have rejected Leicester City’s offer of €20m plus €3m bonuses for Bilal El Khannouss.

Later that day, Het Laatste Nieuws reported the Foxes were close to agreeing a deal with Genk worth around €25m.

The attacking midfielder wants to join Leicester and refused to train, to force a move. His wish is set to be fulfilled soon if the latest report from journalist Sacha Tavolieri is to be believed.

He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that Leicester’s latest ‘bid [is] accepted’ for the 20-year-old. The Jupiler Pro League side will receive €23m plus €3m bonuses and a 15% of a future sale.

The price [likely the fixed part] is ‘slightly lower’ than Genk’s request, but they have still accepted it because of better payment methods.

El Khannouss, for his part, has already agreed a four-year deal with Steve Cooper’s side. The journalist further states the player will travel to England on Wednesday to seal a move to the King Power Stadium.

In another post on X, Tavolieri adds the Morocco international will arrive in Manchester on Wednesday morning. He’s then expected to carry out medical tests with Leicester and sign the contract.
