VfB Stuttgart star Serhou Guirassy is ‘toying with a move to England’ as the likes of West Ham United eye a move for the striker.
BILD cover the player today and how he’s also on the list at Borussia Dortmund, as a transfer away from Stuttgart seems to grow increasingly likely in the January transfer window.
They explain that Guirassy, who has 18 goals and two assists in 14 games this season has a list of clubs interested in him thanks to a well-publicised release clause in his current deal.
One of those to have been linked is West Ham, who earlier this month were said to be showing ‘extremely concrete’ interest in the striker thanks to his performances this season.
BILD don’t name them specifically today but do say the release clause is actually dependent on where the interested party is from and so and English clubs would have to pay more than BVB, who need at least €20m.
That figure is ‘relatively small’ given the player’s performances this season, though, as Guirassy had been handed all the cards for negotiations last summer and used that to his advantage.
Thus, there are numerous clubs looking at him, including West Ham, and the striker is ‘toying with a move to England’ at this moment in time.
That doesn’t mean Dortmund would be without a shot, though, as the striker is currently advised by agent Moussa Sissoko.
He is dealing with potential talks with Dortmund and has good links to the club after negotiating moves for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele in the past, although both those relationships went sour.
Nevertheless, BILD say that could give the Germans something of an advantage and they would be able to offer Guirassy the big wage increase he is chasing, with Dortmund eyeing a figure around €7m, double what he currently picks up.
Of course, Premier League teams could trump that, and it seems it is something he is exploring with his agent as we get closer to the January transfer window officially opening.
