Following the confirmed departure of Kasper Schmeichel from Leicester City, it’s time to see the rumours about their search for a new goalkeeper grow.

Today, Portuguese newspaper Record writes about Benfica’s Odysseas Vlachodimos having an ‘open path’ to replace the Foxes legend at the club.

The outlet claims that Leicester City ‘will attack’ the signing of a goalkeeper and the Greece international is ‘on top of the list of preferences from the English club’.

At the weekend, Foxes’ manager Brendan Rodgers spoke to Eleven Sports, and referred to the rumour as ‘a lot of speculation’.

It turns out, however, that the manager also claimed that there are ‘lots of calls’ between clubs, and that was taken by the Portuguese media as confirmation of their pursuit for Vlachodimos.

This time, it isn’t said how much Leicester City would need to spend on the Benfica player, although previous claims stated €10-12m would do the deal.

Record also mentions the rumours from England and Italy which say Napoli’s Alex Meret is an alternative for the Foxes.
