Brentford star Bryan Mbuemo should ignore potential interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool and instead move to Newcastle United.

That’s according to ‘expert’ Romauld Eteki, an agent for Promosport and sports consultant for CRTV Sports in Cameroon, who has given his opinion on the matter to Africa Foot.

Mbeumo is expected to be one of the big names of the summer after another season of impressing for Brentford this year.

The 25-year-old has 14 goals and four assists in 29 games for Brentford this season, meaning he’s already surpassed the nine goals he managed in 27 games last season and is on course to beat the six assists he managed as well.

Interest in the forward is reportedly growing, with him now having established himself as a Premier League star.

Arsenal have been credited with an interest as they need to bolster their forward options, while Liverpool are also believed to be keeping an eye on him, particularly if Mohamed Salah leaves in the summer.

Eteki, though, believes that the idea destination would be Newcastle, where there would be less pressure than at Arsenal or Liverpool.

“Bryan Mbeumo has many suitors this season, thanks to his performances,” he said.

“The names of Liverpool, to compensate for a future departure of Salah, or Arsenal are often mentioned. However, I think Newcastle would be a good destination for him.

“First of all, he would pass an obvious level. Newcastle has been fighting for European places for two years, which is not the case for Brentford.

“In addition, at Newcastle, he would certainly arrive in the shoes of an undisputed starter because on the right side of the team, there is not a player who stands out.

“However, at Arsenal where Saka is unshakeable on the right or at Liverpool where succeeding Salah, the best player in the championship, the expectations would therefore be very high. Which can add additional pressure.”
