West Bromwich Albion’s Kamil Grosicki failed to complete a move to Nottingham Forest in the last window due to a delay in completing the paperwork related to his transfer.
The midfielder hasn’t featured in the Premier League for West Brom and has made it to their squad on two occasions this season.
Earlier this month, the 32-year-old admitted he’s still in contact with Nottingham Forest and stressed a decision over his future has to be taken in January.
Two days ago, the former Hull City man revealed he is still ‘fighting every day’ to improve his situation at The Hawthorns, but he also kept the door open to leave the Baggies if there’s no improvement in his situation.
Grosicki is in similar situation to Arkadiusz Milik is at Napoli, and Poland coach Jerzy Brzęczek is unhappy with the duo not playing for their respective clubs this season.
“We did not think about Jakub Moder or Przemysław Płachet then [to be part of the national team]. And certainly not in the perspective of such a quick game in the frame. It shows how it all changes,” Brzęczek was quoted as saying by TVP Sport.
“Just like four months ago, no one thought that Milik would be at Napoli in the stands. And Kamil Grosicki has played more matches for the national team in the last six months than with the club.”
The national team coach has hinted Grosicki and Milik need to consider their future at West Brom and Napoli respectively, if they are to make it to his squad for the European championship.
“It is certainly not a comfortable situation for us if in spring [second half of the season], history with Kamil and Milik is repeated,” he explained.
“They will then have less chance of going to the European championships. This may be a problem for us, but I do not want to speak personally today because everything is dynamic. It’s difficult to plan now.”
