Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann is having a great start to the weekend, as good news reached his club today.
Following the forward’s red card against Liverpool in the Champions League, he had been suspended for two matches, one of which was against the Reds at Anfield.
Now even though Griezmann was expected to sit out the game against AC Milan as well, he’s now free to play his part in it.
As reported by Marca, Atletico Madrid’s appeal has been accepted by UEFA, who reduced the suspension to only one game, which was already fulfilled against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Marca considers Atletico Madrid’s match against Milan the ‘most important of the season so far’, since that could dictate whether they’ll have chances to qualify for the knock-out stage or not.
Meanwhile, Liverpool sit on top of the group with four wins from four games, having already guaranteed the first spot, despite the upcoming games against Porto and Milan.
