Given the lack of football going on at the moment, the Catalan sport newspapers have been filling their pages with various things.
Naturally there’s been a lot of coverage of the Covid-19 crisis and how that will impact upon football and other sports, and there’s also a growing tendency to talk about transfers.
With rumours already surfacing that the transfer window could be extended to a huge degree, there could be a lot of business taking place and Barcelona will need to plan their finances carefully.
Perhaps chief among their issues is what to do with Philippe Coutinho, and he’s again linked with a move to Chelsea on Friday.
Today’s edition of Sport explains that whilst the Brazilian is happy at Bayern Munich, it’s not thought the club will extend his stay. Therefore he’s informed Barcelona he’ll accept a loan move elsewhere, with a return to the Premier League his desire.
Coutinho is presented as having two ‘priority’ options in England, and those are Chelsea and Arsenal.
Frank Lampard’s side have been linked with the player repeatedly, and there’s a genuine possibility that a loan move to Stamford Bridge, on terms which are good for Chelsea, could be a reasonable outcome.
This is certainly one to keep an eye on.
