Rangers defender Bruno Alves has suggested to the Portuguese press he could still remain at Ibrox despite strong interest from Serie A side Parma.
The veteran still has a season left on his contract with the Scottish Premiership club and there’s a chance he could play for Steven Gerrard next season.
Speaking to Abola, Alves discussed his Rangers future: “I have a contract and I’ll see what the best option is for my career.”
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has already brought in Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic to strengthen in defence and it was expected Alves would be signing for Parma.
However, Parma’s place in Serie A is in danger after allegations their forward Emanuele Calaio tried to illegally influence their game against Spezia last season, by obtaining ‘a lower competitive commitment’ from the players of Spezia.
Alves was reportedly travelling to Italy for a medical, but as yet no agreement has been announced.
