Gazzetta dello Sport report on Saturday that Patrice Evra is ‘still deciding’ whether to join Crystal Palace or look at other options in the January transfer window.
Evra has lost his place at Juventus, but there hasn’t been an air of him being pushed out of the club, until the idea of signing Sead Kolasinac popped up. The Schalke defender is out of contract at the end of the season and primed for one of Juvnetus’ bargain signings.
The problem is Schalke don’t want to let him go early in January, or at least they would have to be convinced. Financially, of course.
If that can’t be sorted out then Evra staying is even more of a possibility. Juventus do have other options in their squad but Evra’s experience and character means he’s a good person to have around the place.
The transfer situation is all very much in the air at the moment and will likely come down to Evra’s own choice.
If he’s determined to leave for Crystal Palace, or anyone else for that matter, then it’s unlikely Juventus will stand in his way.
