As things stand, we are no closer to knowing which centre-back Manchester United will be going after this summer, with three main names seemingly in the running.
The first, and potentially favourite within the club, is Raphaël Varane, who seems to be willing to leave Real Madrid this summer after so many years in Spain.
The second is Jules Koundé, who has found himself in the middle of a big Premier League battle for his services, and has the brightest future ahead of him.
Thirdly, and perhaps the most long-term target for the club (excluding the fact Manchester United wanted Varane before his move to Madrid) is Kalidou Koulibaly.
It’s this final name we’ll be focusing on today, as Corriere dello Sport once again push the interest from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side on Friday in the Napoli star.
Looking at the future of both Fabián Ruiz and Koulibaly following the Serie A side’s failure in qualifying for the Champions League, the newspaper explain both stars could leave, with the latter ‘still the coveted goal’ of Manchester United.
As for the price, the Spanish midfielder is said to be worth around €60m, with his centre-back teammate ‘more or less the same’.
