Italian outlet Tutto Udinese brings today some quotes from Gerard Deulofeu’s interview with Udinese Tonight.

Following a loan from Watford in the summer window, the winger has now made a permanent move to the Serie A side on the final days of the January transfer market.

Deulofeu made 13 appearances for Udinese so far, and despite having only one goal and two assists, he claims to be pretty satisfied at the Italian club.

“I’m happy to have married this project and to have signed with Udinese, now I’m here definitively and I’m ready to help the team reach all the objectives set, I’m happy.”, he said (via Tutto Udinese).

“What I liked about Udine is the professionalism and organisation of the whole company. I like to go to the ground every day to train and I like the teammates.”

Speaking about his adaptation, he claims he didn’t find a very different tactical scenario from the one he had at Watford.

“I had no problem settling here even from a tactical point of view. I came from Watford where in the last period we played with the 4-5-1, with a very low defence and a game made up of restarts on the outside. I have no problems with the game system, the problem I had in this period concerned my body but here I immediately felt great with Mister and his teammates. I like the environment around the team and I’m happy because I see a lot of progress in the team in the last period.”

Deulofeu continues playing with former Watford teammate Roberto Pereyra, and likes the partnership they have: “I like how he’s playing, he’s giving his all in every match and yesterday we did very well together. For me he’s a friend and I’m happy to play with him”.

Recalling his career, the Catalan player claims he has no regrets: “I don’t think about these things, in the past I’ve been in big teams but I don’t start thinking that because of my injuries now I’m in a place where I shouldn’t. I’m here now and my only thought is the present of this team, in football you can’t think about the past because if you do it means that you’re losing sight of the present and the future, which in my opinion is the most important. I thank all the teams that welcomed me in the past but now I’m at Udinese and I’m very happy to be here”.

Deulofeu joined Watford on a loan deal from Barcelona in January 2018, which was made permanent later that year for €13m. He’s left the Hornets with 17 goals and 11 assists in 70 appearances for the club.
