Sassuolo’s Filip Đuričić is ‘sought’ by Southampton and West Ham United, according to reports coming out of Italy.
The 29-year-old spent the second half of the 2015/16 season on loan with the Saints, when Ronald Koeman was in charge at St Mary’s, and he made nine appearances in the Premier League.
Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side are looking to bring the attacking midfielder back to the club this summer, but they will have to battle it out with the Hammers.
That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who add Sassuolo has received ‘offers from England’ for the Serbia international and these proposals are likelier to be from the two Premier League sides.
Đuričić has 12 more months left on his contract with the Serie A side and despite the approaches made by Southampton and David Moyes’ side, the player ‘would prefer to stay’ in Italy.
It’s now down to the two English clubs whether they can convince Đuričić to leave Sassuolo in the summer window.
Đuričić finished the 2020/21 season with five goals and four assists in 32 league appearances.
