On October 10th, Everton defender Lucas Digne told L’Equipe that his target for this is season is to help the Merseyside club climb as high as possible in the league table.
The left-back struggled for minutes at Barcelona and therefore, he left the Camp Nou and made a switch to Goodison Park in the summer.
He’s made six league appearances for the Toffees and his club form saw him receive a call-up from France, months after failing to make it to the World Cup with Les Bleus.
During an interview with French newspaper Le Parisien, the 25-year-old explained how a conversation with Marco Silva convinced him to reject other offers and join the English outfit.
“I had several proposals. But when I spoke to Marco Silva over the phone, I immediately wanted to join [Everton]. I needed to play, to feel the confidence of a coach who loves his fullbacks to attack,” Digne said.
“This is exceptional. The Premier League is great, with incredible matches every week. I’m having a lot of fun. In my first game against Huddersfield, I had cramps in the 75th minute. It had been years since I had not had one. I run a lot more here,” the Everton player stressed. 
Asked if he is adapted to his life in England: “Yes. I live in Manchester, where there is a small community of French or French speaking players. The people are super warm, I was pleasantly surprised. With the food, it’s different. (Laughs.) I cook a little and I struggled to find organic products.”
