Barcelona’s Marc Guiu is set to make a switch to Chelsea in the summer window.

Two days ago, we covered claims from Spain that the 18-year-old has ‘total agreement’ with the Blues. The deal will go through once Chelsea activate his €6m release clause.

The striker’s deal lasts until 2025, and he’d received a renewal offer from Barca. However, he’s decided to accept Chelsea’s proposal, which is better than the one offered by the La Liga side, both sporting wise and financially.

According to El Desmarque, Enzo Maresca’s side will pay €6m in the ‘next few days’.

On Thursday, Barca board of directors had a meeting, where they discussed several cases, including Guiu’s future.

It’s claimed the Spain U19 international’s impending move to Chelsea is ‘already taken for granted’ by the Catalan club.

Guiu came up through the ranks of the Blaugrana’s youth system and was promoted to their first team last season. He scored two goals from seven games.

Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal gave an interview to Sport, and they asked him if he’s ‘surprised’ with Guiu’s decision to join Chelsea.

Responding to that, he said: “These are decisions that everyone makes. I spoke to him and he told me he’s fine, at the moment he’s thinking about his holidays. At the end of the day, these are decisions that everyone makes.”
