Marc Jurado moving to Manchester United was first reported by Catalan newspaper Sport on Thursday, which much annoyance that Barcelona are set to lose the La Masia youngster.
Considered one of the best players in Barca’s youth system, the 16 year old right back had been predicted a big future at the club, with plans in place to move him through the club’s youth teams, and hopefully one day represent the first team.
Contract offers were snubbed, and Manchester United swooped in to convince the defender his future would be better served in England.
El Nacional, another Catalan news source, now also covers the move.
They present it as fact, saying Jurado ‘has signed’ for Manchester United and Barca have lost another La Masia ‘pearl’. All they’ll get in return is training compensation.
El Nacional believe the amount will be €1.5m, which is a higher figure than has been reported elsewhere, so perhaps there’s going to be some disagreement on that.
However, that would have no impact on the transfer as Jurado would technically be signed as a free agent.
