Lyon winger Bertrand Traoré’s expected move to Aston Villa is edging closer towards being completed.

On September 14th, we covered claims from RMC Sport explaining the 25-year-old travelled to Denmark to undergo his medical tests.

Foot Mercato now brings in the latest development on this case.

According to the report, the Burkina Faso international returned to Lyon on Tuesday after completing his Villa medical in Denmark.

It’s claimed the former Ajax man now needs to sort out the final details to seal a switch to Villa Park. The report points out particularly the formalities related to obtaining a work permit to play in the Premier League.

Traoré is then expected to say ‘goodbye to his teammates’ in the next few hours, and the player will then fly to Birmingham to sign his contract to join Villa on Wednesday.

Having has the No.10 shirt at Lyon, Foot Mercato explain there’s a battle within the French club over who will take his number next.

Dean Smith’s side will surely not be concerned about it, as the attacker’s move to the English side is set to be completed in the coming days.
