Unwanted by Antonio Conte at Tottenham, Tanguy Ndombele was asked to look for a new club in the January transfer window.

Paris Saint-Germain were reportedly keen, but the Spurs man eventually went back to his former club, Lyon, on loan for the rest of the season.

An option to make the move permanent for a fee of around €60m was also included, although many thought that was just for show, as it never felt like the Ligue 1 side would ever be able to afford that.

This is exactly what’s happened, with TF1’s Julien Maynard taking to Twitter to bring the latest on the situation.

He explained that despite there being an option to buy in the deal, the player ‘will not stay at Lyon’ and his ‘exit has been decided’, seemingly suggesting the French club have let him know he can go back to London.

What happens next remains to be seen, but we highly doubt Conte will have changed his mind, meaning Tottenham and the midfielder will have to find a solution that suits all parties this summer.
