Aston Villa could be the next destination for Sevilla’s Ludwig Augustinsson, according to claims from Spain.

The left-back swapped Werder Bremen for the La Liga side last summer and has found it hard to enjoy regular game time with the latter, making only nine league starts.

His ‘days are numbered’ at the Andalusian club if the 28-year-old’s loan move to Aston Villa is to materialise.

That’s according to Mucho Deporte, who explain there could be a ‘very early loan’ transfer of the Sweden international to the Premier League club.

It’s claimed Steven Gerrard’s side would pay €500,000 as loan fee to Sevilla. In addition to this, they would take care of his full salary during his temporary stay in England. As part of the deal, Aston Villa would not have an obligation to make the player’s stay permanent next summer.

Having failed to impress at Sevilla and win Julen Lopetegui’s trust in his first campaign in Spain, the loan move may help Augustinsson regain his best version at Aston Villa.
