Pipe Sierra was one of the first journalists to report Liverpool’s offer for Luis Diaz, with the Colombian journalist doing so at the same time as some in Portugal early on Friday morning.
With the deal between FC Porto and the Reds agreed, and the Portuguese club getting €45m plus a potential €15m in bonus payments, it’s just the details of the transfer which need to be sorted out.
Diaz is currently away with the Colombia national side, and it’s been reported repeatedly that he’s set to go through a Liverpool medical in Argentina.
Sierra backs this up and says Diaz will have the ‘first part of his medical’ in the ‘next few hours’.
That would suggest that further medical tests will be carried out later, as Liverpool make sure their purchase is going to be a solid one.
Colombia face Argentina in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday evening, by which time it’s hoped Luis Diaz will be confirmed as a new member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
