Everton look likely to go through a ‘bitter farewell’ with midfielder Allan this summer as he looks set for a reunion with Maurizio Sarri at Lazio.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say the Brazilian has failed to ‘break through’ in the Premier League.
They explain that Allan had started life on Merseyside with a bang and was delighted to be there, flourishing under Carlo Ancelotti and getting himself back into the national set-up.
He was a ‘real leader’, but that has slowly drained away, and he is now far from the leader that this side desperately needs.
A return to Italy, particularly under Sarri, could allow him to find that ‘missed dimension’ and Everton have put him on the market.
In fact, there is an agreement between all parties to allow him to go, and TMW even say he ‘could also be released’ so he can rejoin Sarri at Lazio.
That seems unlikely to happen as Everton can definitely get a fee for him and will know that, so perhaps they mean more ‘will be allowed to go’ rather than ‘released on a free’ on this occasion.
Either way, it seems they’re happy to let him go, and with Lazio likely to be on the hunt for a replacement for Sergej Milinkovic Savic, that is an ideal place for him to go.
