Erik ten Hag will have to address various issues in his Manchester United squad this summer, and there will be hope at the club that they can secure some early exits to give them budget clarity for the transfer window.

That will be easier said than done, and it’s not exactly something they’ve been good at in recent years, but the hope will be there anyway.

Should the manager want a handful of players for his first team squad then it’s likely they’re not all going to be big purchases.

Over the past few weeks, the Italian media have been bringing back the claims of a potential move to Manchester United for Adrien Rabiot. It happens ahead of every transfer window, and especially in the summer.

At the weekend, the midfielder made comments about multiple members of the Juventus squad not having made decisions regarding their future.

The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of June, and perhaps he was trying to convey that the question mark of uncertainty shouldn’t only be above him.

Gazzetta dello Sport report Juventus want to renew his contract and get the player to sign a two year deal, worth €7.5m a year after tax.

According to the Italian newspaper, Rabiot ‘knows perfectly well the lure of Bayern Munich and especially Manchester United’. To put that in simpler terms, he’s seriously tempted.

Gazzetta go on to say the player has never made any secret that the Premier League is a ‘very welcome destination’ for him.

The 29-year-old wants his future clarified before the start of the Euros.
