It’s no surprise, but the media close to Real Sociedad are already giving Sandro Ramirez up as lost.
The striker moved to the Basque club on loan from Everton in the summer transfer window. Interest in the former Barcelona player was talked up all summer but he always seemed to be third or fourth choice for clubs, and as others got their signings in the options became fewer.
Sandro had hoped he could prove himself at Sevilla during his previous loan move, telling the Spanish media that he wasn’t able to settle so well on Merseyside and that now he was back in his own type of football the goals would flow.
He didn’t hit the back of the net once.
He hasn’t scored a single goal for Real Sociedad either. Diario Vasco say he’ll be sent back and he’s used as part of the reasoning for the club to ‘sign better’ moving forward.
Barring a miracle, and if Sandro scores a single goal perhaps it will unblock the rest, Everton are going to face another summer of trying to find a home for their player with not many clubs, if any, seeing him as the one they really want.
