Standard Liege midfielder Marveille Bokadi has taken part in a press conference ahead of the Europa League clash against Rangers.
The Belgian side are in need of a positive result against Steven Gerrard’s side in order to have any chance of qualifying for the tournament’s knock-out stage.
“An important game because mathematically, we can still believe it. I hope that we will do a good result here at he Rangers,” said Marveille Bokadi (via Walfoot).
“They are a very good team but so are we. We chose to do this job for this kind of game. We came here to Scotland to get a result.”
Even though Standard Liege know they have a tough mission due to Rangers’ great season, Bokadi claims they won’t bring defensive tactics to Glasgow: “I don’t think so, we will play offensively to achieve something here.”
Rangers currently share the top of Group D with Benfica, as they have eight points each. The Scottish Premiership side have a small advantage on their goal difference.
Now as both Rangers and the Eagles have games against Standard Liege and Lech Poznan to decide who’ll qualify in first place, it’s crucial for the Ibrox side to do well in the final two fixtures.
For Standard Liege to qualify, they have a nearly impossible mission of beating Rangers now and then Benfica next week.
