Towards the end of the January window, Nottingham Forest came forward to sign Romain Saïss and even made contact with the Beşiktaş player over a deal.
The defender left Wolverhampton Wanderers as a free agent and joined the Black Eagles last summer.
Nottingham Forest tried bringing the 32-year-old back to the Premier League in the winter market but their €3m proposal didn’t please the Turkish club.
Fanatik state Forest continue to have the Morocco international on their agenda for the summer. Valérien Ismaël was the centre-back’s main supporter when he arrived at the Istanbul club, but the manager was shown the exit door last October.
Şenol Güneş replaced Ismaël and that hasn’t favoured the ex-Wolves man, who has found it hard to adapt to the current coach’s system. Therefore, he ‘will be allowed to leave’ after this season.
This is where Steve Cooper’s side fit in as the report explains Saïss is ‘scheduled to be transferred’ to Nottingham Forest in the summer. Beşiktaş, who are ready to cut ties with him, are expecting to earn €5m from the experienced defender’s sale.
