We admit we expected to see a lot about Vincent Janssen in the Mexican media today, but they don’t really bring much on the situation.

The only story doing the rounds is about the quotes from the Monterrey midfielder Maxi Meza, who says the Tottenham Hotspur player would have a warm welcome at the Mexican side.

“Whenever a player comes and can collaborate with us, who can help us, he will always be welcome,” Maxi Meza told ESPN.

“He will meet with an amazing group of good people, a very competitive team, he will feel comfortable and I hope he can help us with whatever he can do.”

Meanwhile, big local newspapers such as Record and El Universal don’t bring a single word on the situation today, which is strange for a transfer which seems to be at such an advanced stage.

A few online outlets have been following the claims from England saying Janssen has had his medical in London, but not with much to add.

Janssen is supposed to be a big signing for the Mexican side, and the Mexican media love arrivals from European football, so perhaps they’re not fully convinced this one is happening.
