Earlier this month, we covered claims from Germany which stated Stefan Ortega is ready to push for a transfer if he’s not the No.1 at Manchester City.
This is backed up Sky Deutschland, who report the 31-year-old wants to be first-choice goalkeeper at the Etihad.
Ortega has made 36 appearances since joining Manchester City on a free transfer in July 2022. He’s played only two matches this season.
Pep Guardiola has mainly favoured Ederson ahead of the German. According to Sky, the former Arminia Bielefeld man wants to be the main goalkeeper at the club. If his situation doesn’t change this season, Ortega would like to leave next summer.
Amid claims of possibly wanting to leave at the end of this season, Ortega insists he’s currently happy with his life at Manchester City. He revealed this during a chat with Sky, relayed by Sport1.
When asked about his future, he said: “Still in Manchester. I feel very comfortable there. At the moment there is little reason to leave Manchester again.
