Sunderland and Boavista have reportedly submitted an appeal for the transfer of Mika.

According to Mais Futebol, the clubs claim they couldn’t finalise the move before the deadline because of an issue in FIFA’s transfers system.

All parties are said to be confident that FIFA will accept the appeal, since there’s enough proof that the documents were exchanged before the window closed.

Even after the transfer didn’t happen officially, Record says that Mika went to Thursday’s training session at Boavista to say farewell to his teammates as he was ready to travel to England.

They say that if the transfer succeeds, Boavista will still try to sign a free agent goalkeeper to replace the 25-year-old.
