Despite agreeing that Crystal Palace are really close to signing goalkeeper Lucas Perri from São Paulo, the Brazilian media still have a few different versions of this story regarding how much the Premier League side would pay to get the player permanently.

It was UOL who broke the news on Monday night, claiming that the 21-year-old is joining the London side on a loan until the end of the season which will include a €7m buying option.

They claim that Fiorentina had already tried to sign Perri, but the offer didn’t convince São Paulo. With the player wishing to gain experience somewhere else, as he hasn’t even made his debut for the club so far, the Brazilian side liked the conditions presented by Palace.

Globo Esporte claims that the loan has the buying option of €4.5m plus a possible €1m for 80% of the player’s economic rights. As in England it’s only allowed to get 100%, the website is probably reporting the amount for São Paulo’s share, and Palace would pay a few million more to whoever owns the other 20%. Maybe that’s the €1.5m left from that maths.

This is a really interesting signing by Palace, since Perri is São Paulo’s third goalkeeper and isn’t well known even by club fans. So it’s crucial that they will have some time to evaluate him before spending that money.

The Brazilian media claims that only bureaucratic details are left, and the player is already saying goodbye to his teammates.
