Galatasaray new signing Jason Denayer has spoken to the Turkish media about his loan move from Manchester City.
The Belgian joined the Turkish giants until the end of the season, and has revealed he’s absolutely delighted to return to Galatasaray, after his previous spell with the club during the 2015/16 season.
Speaking to Fanatik, a relieved and excited Denayer said: “It really took two years to come back here again. I’m very happy. Manchester City tried to loan me to different clubs during this transfer window, most notably Spain, but I stood firm. I’ve done everything I can in order to return to Galatasaray and I’m glad I‘ve managed it.”
Denayer was linked with a move to Galatasaray throughout the last window, but Manchester City were’t keen on him returning to Turkey for another loan spell.
The Premier League side had tried to offload him to Girona for the season, but the player turned down the move. Manchester City have sent several players to Girona this summer, but Denayer didn’t want to be a part of the project.
Galatasaray will reportedly pay a €500K loan fee to Manchester City for the player and no right of redemption clause has been included in the deal.
The defender will wear No.64 at Galatasaray.
