After yesterday’s claim he would ‘enthusiastically’ welcome a move, Kieran Gibbs to Torino continues its positive trajectory, as Tuttosport report the West Brom defender has said ‘yes’ to the Serie A side.
One of the main reasons for doing so is his desire to try something else, as he’s not particularly keen on playing Championship football following the Baggies’ relegation from the Premier League last season.
The 28-year-old’s green light is extremely important for Torino, with talks now underway between West Brom and the Italian club to try and get something sorted.
So far, the Serie A club are leaning towards a loan, while the English would prefer to make money from the deal i.e. getting rid of Gibbs permanently.
This means the likeliest outcome will be both clubs meeting in the middle, with Torino bringing the left-back in on a loan with an obligation to buy him at the end of the temporary deal.
For now, negotiations are ongoing, but they’re headed in the right direction.
