With Alexandre Lacazette currently set to leave Arsenal come the end of the season when his contract comes to an end, there will be a need to replace him.
Many names have already been thrown around, ranging from Dusan Vlahovic to Youssef En-Nesyri, but there is another to add to the list now.
That’s Sardar Azmoun, who currently plays for Zenit Saint-Petersburg in Russia and has scored six goals in his first 12 games of the season.
The news comes from Onze Mondial, who have a small section on the Iran international, for whom he has scored 37 goals in 56 caps.
A target for Lyon this summer, the player recently admitted he had a number of offers on the table, including one from Arsenal’s rivals, but not one from the Gunners directly.
Perhaps they felt they were better off waiting to see if they could get him on a free, as Azmoun will be able to negotiate with other clubs from January onwards.
After all, if you lose Lacazette on a free, what better way to replace him than with someone else who won’t cost a lot.
