Spanish defender Luis Hernandez signed for Leicester City on a free transfer this summer, after spending four years at Sporting Gijon.
The 27-year-old has been speaking to Spanish newspaper AS about his first few days in Leicester, and his pre-season training with the Premier League champions.
Hernandez was asked about the opportunity to sign for Leicester, to which he revealed the decision was made very quickly.
He said: “It was a very intense year at Gijon and I wanted it to be, but when an offer from Leicester City arrived I didn’t hesitate.
“I decided quickly and I’m happy. I’ve found an exciting club, and an enthusiastic city. People talk of the miracle last season but I think here there are strong links and this is a family. That surely was the key to success of last season.”
Hernandez was also asked about his new teammate Riyad Mahrez, to which he replied: “He is a young, humble and talented. He has ambition to improve and keep growing.”
